SciVal (research analysis) course

SciVal is a reporting tool based on data from the Scopus database. In SciVal you can get an overview of publications, citation profiles and collaboration partner at your department, as well as you can benchmark with other organizational units.

For example, you can look into the approximately 5000 Aalborg University topics in SciVal, or focus on the collaboration partners of your research group or potential international collaboration partners.

The course will provide an understanding of the underlying data in SciVal, and what that means with regards to the interpretation of data. Including a brief review of citation databases and the different bibliometric indicators that are being used. There will be time for hands on instruction, so you can work with specific examples.

The course is aimed at heads of departments, heads of research groups, or administrative staff that work strategically with the organization’s publication profile.
